Based in Chavenage on the outskirts of Tetbury in Gloucestershire, Wildlife World is the UK’s leading retailer of wildlife friendly products for the garden. Our efforts to produce innovative and valuable nesting habitats and feeders for birds, mammals, amphibians and insects are benefiting wildlife all over Europe. And our commitment to original product features has gained us an enviable reputation as leaders in both design and manufacture.
We work with an extensive network of wildlife experts, including TV’s Simon King, to develop unique products with innovative features. We are one of the few suppliers with our own UK workshop. Our uniquely designed products are first manufactured and tested in the UK. The design is then registered with Copywatch. The products may then be produced by subcontractors in the UK or other countries who all meet our environmental standards. We are FSC® certified and Sedex registered.

Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plansWe are pioneers in promoting conservation awareness and education, quality of design and manufacture using naturally durable and sustainable materials is paramount in everything we makeSustainability initiativesConservation Conservation has been at the heart of the ethics for 20 years. We were one of the first businesses in this field to use FSC® certified timber from well-managed forests and other controlled sources Down in Devon, we converted intensive grassland into Organic wildflower meadows and planted organic cider apple orchards and 4000 native trees with the charity Moor Trees. Subsequently we have planted native hedgerows and in 2020, just completed another 200 metres creating new wildlife corridors. Our organic hay goes through a special chopping machine, for use in relevant habitats Recycle We use recycled cardboard for most of our packing. Originally we had a big round machine, the ULEY TIGER, that turned used boxes into packing material, now we recycle old cardboard and have replaced plastic packing with paper. We specify recycled (reused) plastic where it has to be used, we use new compostable materials and jute for our own food packs. Wildlife Charities By buying Wildlife World products you are helping us to support a huge range of environmental and wildlife projects. These include the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust, British Hedgehog Preservation Society, Hedgehog Rescue Centres, Wotton Animal Rescue, Oak & Furrows, Epping Forest Hedgehog Rescue, International Bee Research Association, RNLI Royal National Institute for Lifeboats, The Centre for Alternative Technology, and other Wildlife Rescue Centres. As well as supporting and off setting with Climate Care. Wildlife Organisations We work extensively with many European conservation/wildlife organisations such as the RSPB, National Trust, Buglife, Woodland Trust, LPO, Simon King Wildlife, Bat Conservation Trust, just to name a few! Sustainability Our wooden products are exclusively manufactured from FSC® certified timber. We use many naturally durable timbers which require more complex drying time but eliminates the need for chemical preservatives. Our products are only treated with water-based stains and paints, we use recycled materials in place of plastic and metals where we can and a high percentage of our packaging is made from recycled cardboardPledges for the yearWe have pledges to use renewable electricity by Spring 2021, and to achieve Plant Mark accreditation by 2022Sustainable ProductsArtisan Nester Range (AN1,2,3)The Fair Trade Bird Nester has a sturdy inner frame for support. Attached strong metal hooks at the rear and a long loop at the top ensure you can fasten the nester securely. As a result these make it easier to site the nester in the natural leaf cover and vegetation of ivy, bushes, trees or hedges. The nester has a small round entrance reinforced with steel. It is also slightly protruding to make it easy for birds to land and perch on. Purchasing our Fair Trade product helps both wildlife and people. In addition to giving a bird a nest you’ll be supporting the Artisan workers in Southern Bangladesh who make them. Funding the survival of many women and their families from rural communities in desperate poverty. Handmade to the highest quality finish using natural sea grass and recycled saris. Every nester is unique in colour! Each individual artisan chooses the colourful recycled sari pattern making every nester different. Position the bird nester in a sheltered space to keep out harsh weather. Preferably face the bird nester between North and South-East. A warm protected roosting space out of the prevailing wind can be a life saver for small birds during cold harsh weather conditions.HH13 Hedgehog BarnA beautiful and stylishly-designed wooden hedgehog house made from naturally durable FSC-certified timber. The unique design of our Hedgehog Barn features an innovative extending porch which helps prevent access by predators and makes it easier to clean and store. Additionally, for thorough cleaning or inspection there is opening hatch at the rear of the house. Beneficially, making the unit more compact, reduces its carbon footprint when shipping. This product has been carefully designed to suit the needs of hedgehogs, and help encourage them into your garden, whilst also occupying the smallest possible box – reducing the space required for transport.AT THE FAIRNEW TO THE FAIRSocial equity at your companyWe regularly donate a % of our profits to Wildlife and other CharitiesCertified sustainable products by third partyCERTIFIEDCertified bySedex, ClimateCare, GardenexPackagingOur packaging is plastic freeOur packaging is compostableall of our packaging is cardboard, and where plastic has to be used, it is recycled plasticMaterialsWe have products made from recycled materialsWe have products made from sustainability sourced raw materialsOur wooden products are exclusively manufactured from FSC® certified timber.
