SES Creative is a second generation family business that was founded in 1972. The range consists of over 350 products. This range is updated each year with around 100 new products. SES Creative’s products are sold worldwide in over 75 countries.
What makes SES Creative unique is that we invent, design and develop all the products in-house. We do this at our head office in Enschede (The Netherlands), where we have an adjacent factory. In addition, we have a laboratory where we test all our products for safety and quality. This ensures that SES Creative can maintain the highest standards and meet all the quality criteria. A few important criteria are that the products are safe, washable, gluten-free, hypoallergenic, animal-friendly and that all products are accompanied by a clear instruction manual.

Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plansBecause we The climate is changing and the temperature on earth is rising because more gases such as CO₂ are released into the air. Like many other companies, we use energy to produce our toys, manage our buildings, and fly for business trips. Our goal at SES is to reduce our carbon footprint every year. We do this step by step, by applying smart innovations and optimizing our production, logistics and other business processes. Meanwhile, we are making our entire business operations CO₂-neutral by purchasing and managing European forests. We offset our full CO₂ consumption and supply 100% CO₂-neutral toys.Sustainability initiativesThough we take measures to reduce CO2 emissions, when we manufacture toys or travel we produce CO2. We now compensate one hundred percent of these CO2 emissions by purchasing and managing healthy forests in Europe. These forests more than compensate for the CO2 emissions our company is responsible for producing. The CO2 footprint of an SES product is therefore 100% CO2 neutral. So far, we have purchased various threatened or neglected forests in Central Germany, which we are improving and managing using natural methods. This forest management also creates jobs and ensures the recovery of nature and various animal species. Locally, we have joined forces with other companies that support this initiative to hire a forest manager. The forest manager is responsible for removing diseased and fallen trees and works to improve the diversity of the forest, and therefore the entire ecosystem, by planting new trees. The project is implemented in accordance with the principles of the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), which is currently the most commonly used standard for CO2 compensation projects. We also take into account the Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standard, which seeks to ensure that — in addition to fighting climate change — projects support the local community and maintain or even improve biodiversity. The project consists of two parts, which are the purchase and management of the forest areas. The purchase of land is made on an individual basis. Several companies collaborate in the maintenance and management of the areas. The costs of this collaboration are borne by a few companies that compensate for their own CO₂ and at the same time are committed to improving nature in Europe. Each cooperating company has purchased existing or neglected forest land. All self-purchased, individual land is the basis for the CO₂ compensation calculation of each company. An employee has been hired to manage the forest and, where necessary, coordinates and directs additional hiring specialists for forestry and nature management. The hired forest manager supervises the protection of forests, nature and trees against unwanted felling and other activities by third parties. In addition to the wages of the forest manager, other costs include the costs of removing trees afffected by diseases and vermin such as the tree beetle; the costs of planting and renewing forests; the purchase, rental and maintenance costs of necessary equipment, seeds, trees and other forest materials. The companies will cover various costs on an open- calculation basis and settle this annually, so that each company makes a fair contribution to the project.Pledges for the yearOur goal at SES is to reduce our carbon footprint every year.
