The Little Green Cracker Company produces luxury crackers with unrivalled ethical and eco-credentials - from sourcing of gifts to the production and transport of our products. Everything - gifts included - is produced in the UK and handmade in North Devon; the practical gifts all have utility and the crackers are designed to be composted or repurposed.

No plastic, No tat! is our strap line, and our watchword is No greenwashing - we don't 'plant a tree' and we don't import toenail clippers or honey dibbers from thousands of travel miles away!.

Formed only in 2020, the company now produces bespoke and 'off-the-shelf' crackers for Selfridges, Westmorland Farmshops, Fenwicks, Highgrove Estate, The House of Commons, RHS Wisley, and many others, including corporate and leisure groups. Speak to us today about your needs!

  • Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plans
Sustainability is front and centre who we are and what we do - from sustainable materials to reuse and recycling of packaging, to keeping transport miles low.
    Sustainability initiatives
All products and their packaging are from sustainable sources. We use recycled and recyclable materials only - for instance, recycled sari ribbons from Women's collectives in India. Where possible we use materials that will compost - for example Tencel, a plant based material. We have created self-mailer boxes to save on double packaging. We DO NOT greenwash by, say, 'planting a tree'. We pay above minimum wages to our people and offer them the felxibility to work according to their own timelines. Most of our products are designed to be entirely sent 'from table to compost'. We have a 'No plastic; No tat' mantra for our Christmas Cracker gifts, so everything is designed to be used, not placed in a drawer or into the trash. All suppliers and their products are carefully curated to ensure eco principles similar to our own. Suppliers local to the company in North Devon are used and everything is UK sourced to save on transport miles. All products are handmade, not machined or machine-tied as most other cracker ribbons are.
    Pledges for the year
We will maintain our strict eco-credentials and continue to offer fair dealing with our workers, our suppliers and our customers.
    Sustainable Products
    Pomegranate
Out beautiful Pomegranate design was launched for December 2023 and is handmade using sustainable materials and tied with a recycled polyester ribbon, all packaged in a robust sustainable box for display or mailing. Inside you'll find gifts from small eco-companies here in the UK that will be used and not discarded - our motto is 'No Plastic; No Tat!'
    Li'l Eco Natural
Li'l Eco is our lower priced range of traditional crackers, tied with natural paper raffia and containing eco gifts that have utility - no plastic and no tat! Hand tied and designed to look beautiful on the table, you'll find a hat, a snap and a terrible joke as well as a gift that you'll actually use, rather than send to the bin or the back of a drawer. The crackers and their packaging are made from sustainable materials and are designed to go from table into compost.
    Kid's Box
Our Kid's box of crackers features a striking Robin design and is tied with vivid red raffia ribbon - all sustainably sourced and printed and designed to go from table into compost. The crackers contain gifts that even adults will enjoy - from a Lanka Kade wood spinning top, to a soya wax crayon set, to a Professor Puzzle matchbox puzzle.
