CHALK is a family run lifestyle and homeware company based on the South East coast.Our story began in 2012 with a retail store The Shop, based in Margate’s Old Town, nestled in the chalky coast line and sandy beaches of Thanet, South East Kent. Our location and beautiful beaches gave us the inspiration for our name and logo.
We started CHALK in 2017 with our main focus on providing independent shops on the high street up and down the county who share our passion for beautiful interiors and simple classic clothing.
We are best known for our muted colours, beautiful textures, carefully chosen fabrics and great designs, which are all central to our ethos. Designed in the UK we believe in designing timeless, high-quality products that take you from season to season for you and your customers to enjoy and love.
With women still significantly underrepresented in leadership roles globally, we are proud to be owned and run by women. 11 years on from where we started we are still a family business, we have expanded our workforce and moved to larger premises, the business continues to flourish and thrive and we hope to be able to carry on with our passion for many years to come.
