  • Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plans
In a society where environmentally friendly practices and concerns are ever at the forefront, we at Puckator Limited pride ourselves on a constant strive to improve our carbon footprint. We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our business, through continual regular reviewing of our practices and looking for more environmentally friendly and sustainable alternatives where possible.
    Sustainability initiatives
We have been reducing single plastic use in packaging with 80% in 2020 alone. We are continuing to source for products that are totally free from plastic or made from recycled material. The nature of the business means that of course packaging materials are used on a daily basis, both in the import of goods and in the sending of goods to our customers. Working with key suppliers we encourage development in recyclable materials, moving away from virgin products where possible and are proud that we can now say all cardboard boxes sent out from our warehouse are 100% recycled. All imported cartons are shredded here in our warehouse and re used as packaging/padding material where viable in place of plastic and bubble wrap. Any cartons not shredded are re used as complete cartons when sending goods to our customers. All packaging cardboard sourced in the UK is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. A combination of polypropylene and paper tape is used in the sealing of cartons. Although currently there in no viable machinery that fits with our packing process for paper tape, we constantly review our systems with the aim to move away from polypropylene tape in the future.
    Pledges for the year
We will continue to decrease the single-use plastic and find more products that can come from natural or recycled material.
    Sustainable Products
    Stone Paper A5 Lined Notebook
Our ‘tree-free’ A5 Stone Paper Notebook is made from high-quality, sustainable stone paper. Stone paper consists of mineral powder bound with non-toxic HDPE (a clean plastic). No water or bleach is used during production, which is the case during the production of traditional wood pulp paper. One tonne of traditional wood pulp paper uses 2,770 liters of water and 18 trees. This beautiful A5 stone paper notebook uses zero! Our unique, eco-friendly notebook is bright white and acid-free.
    RPET products
We are building a range made from products such as RPET (recycled plastic bottles), recycled coconut fibre and FSC approved recycled paper and card. This range include Coolbags, Shopping Bags, and Door Mats.
    Water Bottles
Our range includes traditional stainless steel flasks perfect for picnics and hot drinks on cold winter days. We also have a range of glass and plastic water bottles which have great eco-credentials with many of our plastic products BPA free.
