Paulus and Brown is a dedicated team of British craftsmen, specialising in high end upholstered furniture from design-led sumptuous sofas and armchairs to dining chairs, footstools, headboards and sprung beds. From our new factory within a carbon neutral mill, which is nearing completion, our target for 2023 is to reduce the cost in providing more sustainable and greener furniture.

  • Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plans
    As a company, we already endeavour to keep a green footprint. We are aiming to develop all of our product range into a sustainable and recyclable version.
    Sustainability initiatives
    Within our production process, we aim to separate our waste and by products and recycle where possible. We also aim to maintain a low carbon footprint.

    We aim to provide an eco friendly version of our all our products, by replacing materials inside our pieces with sustainable and recyclable alternatives.

    All of our staff are treated as equals and as part of the family and everyone is paid over the national living wage.

    Packaging
    Our packaging is made with recycled content
    We currently recycle our cardboard packaging directly with our box manufacturer. We are also looking into replacing other packaging elements with more sustainable alternatives.

    We have products made from sustainability sourced raw materials
    With the new products ranges we are creating, we work with sustainably sourced timbers, recyclable materials or natural products which are sustainable at source plus recyclable.

    Our products are made by people employed in good working conditions
    We challenge our suppliers to report any ethical issues they identify
    Within the workplace where our products are made there is commitment to Non-Discrimination Gender Equality and Freedom of Association
    All of our staff are paid above the national minimum wage, are treated equally and provided full facilities with regular breaks to maintain a good and fair working environment in which we would also choose to work.

    Some of the processes we use to manufacture products are energy efficient
    Some of the processes we use to manufacture products are water efficient
    We endeavour to source much of our product from local sources. With the new ranges, we are also looking to components which can be replaced with natural, sustainable or recyclable alternatives. As our factory is traditionally ran, we produce our pieces by hand with limited or no machine processes where possible.
