  • Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plans
Sustainability is one of the pillars of our business strategy. We are committed to playing our part in building a sustainable global economy, and to our responsibility towards the environment, our work force and the communities in which we operate. We are members of the UN Global Compact and we have incorporated social, economic, and environmental concerns into our everyday business operations and decision-making.
    Sustainability initiatives
We launched our “Go Green with Gemar” initiative to set out our values, our code of ethics and our sustainability goals, and to show how we’re managing our social and environmental impact through the pursuit of these goals. We’re the first company in the balloon industry to adopt certified sustainability reporting. We’re also launching a new range of Forestry Council Stewardship (FSC) certified natural rubber balloons neatly packaged in recyclable and reusable balloon bags. 100% FSC labelling provides our customers with the option to purchase natural rubber products made in a way that is good for people and nature. Gemar is also actively engaged with national and international organizations to improve the safety standards of our industry, we’re committed to educate consumers about the proper use of balloons and to promote the fun use of balloons safely, ethically and with respect for the environment. Through our ongoing ‘Don’t let go’ campaign we encourage consumers to use a balloon weight and to pop and dispose of their balloons responsibly. We have an extensive Educational program that includes free content through our channel Balloonista which allow our balloon experts to inspire and educate on the proper use of balloons through practical and fun tutorials. Our Go Green campaign is a project that will accompany as in the coming years, please check our website for further information: https://gemar.it/responsibility/go-green/
