The Next Big Thing - Lakeland
Do you want to be the next big thing?
Lakeland, the home of creative kitchenware, will be making an appearance at The Spring Fair in 2010, and they’re on the hunt for the ‘Next Big Thing’. They will join many other big names in retail looking for the most innovative new ideas and trends for the upcoming year.
Lakeland sells an unrivalled collection of must-haves for the kitchen and home, sourced from all four corners of the globe. Established over 40 years ago in the heart of the Lake District, the company is owned by three brothers, Sam, Martin and Julian Rayner, who are always looking for ground-breaking inventions and ideas to add to their extensive range.
‘I’ve been buying at the Spring Fair for over 30 years now,’ says Martin. ‘These fairs are, I believe, the best place to meet new suppliers and discover exciting and original ideas.’
Martin has been working closely with Pam Plant from The Spring Fair, to encourage designers, inventors and innovative suppliers to come and exhibit. He believes that the UK is a world leader when it comes to innovation, and it’s vital they attract as many designers and inventors as possible to the exhibition. ‘The Spring Fair and Lakeland want to encourage small businesses with big ideas to sell at the fair. The more new ideas we come up with,’ he continues, ‘the more we will have buyers from all over the world beating a path to our door.’
Lakeland’s Next Big Thing stand will be located in Hall 2 J79. Anyone who would like to showcase an idea to Lakeland should email susan.walsh-Nec@lakeland.co.uk to reserve a slot to see them at the fair.
